Today, the Government is launching an expanded public awareness campaign so everyone knows exactly what they should be doing to keep themselves and others safe in the fight against coronavirus.
- The action plan announced by the Prime Minister yesterday sets out how ministers will take every reasonable step to confront the virus. Every Government department will have a designated minister who will oversee their department’s role to the virus and a war room will be set up in the Cabinet Office to bring together communications experts and scientists to roll out a public information campaign.
- This public information campaign emphasises that every single person has a role to play, helping to manage the spread of the virus, by washing their hands for 20 seconds and catching their coughs and sneezes.
- We are well prepared for the virus, with the government and NHS working around the clock to keep the public safe, and it is vital that everybody does their bit.
